The early chapters in this book start with excruciatingly simple concepts This is a monitor it is an output device and by the end of the chapter get into overly technical stuff such as the inner workings of microprocessors and RAM In the later part of the book, every chapter ends with a very slightly different angle on the same security ideas, over and over I guess they didn t call it comprehensive for nothing Despite these annoyances, the book does make a lot of varied and complicated The early chapters in this book start with excruciatingly simple concepts This is a monitor it is an output device and by the end of the chapter get into overly technical stuff such as the inner workings of microprocessors and RAM In the later part of the book, every chapter ends with a very slightly different angle on the same security ideas, over and over I guess they didn t call it comprehensive for nothing Despite these annoyances, the book does make a lot of varied and complicated computer concepts seem simple It also includes a lot of diagrams and images which are sometimes helpful and sometimes I swear thrown in only to add some visual variety Special features at the end of each chapter present real world applications and somewhat controversial issues for further consideration. Also, I just feel the need to point out that we read the entire book No class ever assigns the entire book LIS 636
