Death Ship wasn t terrible or anything, but I didn t really like it It wasn t a remarkable or even memorable story, it got off to a really slow start, and the whole vampire thing has been done a million times before.

This book fails the rape test In fact it fails it in both ways possible, on about page three no less. The first way to fail is to portray a rape scene in a sexy or alluring way Very early on, there s a rape scene that takes up about a third of the page and is drawn is such a sexy way that if you were to change the dialog bubble to say something other than a protestation, it would just be an erotic scene Fail. The second way to fail is for the rape survivor to fall in love with or desire her his This book fails the rape test In fact it fails it in both ways possible, on about page three no less. The first way to fail is to portray a rape scene in a sexy or alluring way Very early on, there s a rape scene that takes up about a third of the page and is drawn is such a sexy way that if you were to change the dialog bubble to say something other than a protestation, it would just be an erotic scene Fail. The second way to fail is for the rape survivor to fall in love with or desire her his their assailant In a panel or two after the rape in this book, the survivor begs the rapist to stay Fail.I read the rest of this book despite the poor beginning, but the narrative was a little wonky It sometimes seemed like panels were missing that needed to be there At the end, the artist or maybe the writer includes a brief history of the depiction of Dracula in various media That part was interesting enough, but then there s an explanation of the story just told in the comic Attention editors if your writer artist has to explain the story that he just illustrated as a comic, something is wrong

I thought it was pretty good but maybe could have been a bit better I wasn t always able to follow the story, and after reading the section about how the story was constructed at the end I realized I d missed a few things The idea was pretty cool, and the art was good The front and back covers were just amazing.

So much potential, so little development.

A tiresome little story that has got Bram Stoker s name attached to it, despite not actually bearing any relation to Bram Stoker The story was a full platitude of vampire lore, the art was messy and there not nothing memorable at all in the entire book to take home It was a cash grab and that s what it was.

Great story of Dracula s voyage aboard the Demeter from Transylvania to Whitby, England Nicely fleshed out story and exceptionally illustrated Very highly recommended.

The artwork, while almost fitting to the tone of the story, was too murky mere impressions of outlines, shadowy faces lacking details.I understand that the story itself is dark and murky but that artwork confused meoften than not, as characters were over similar in looks with few distinguishing marks details I like for the art to further the story, not hinder it But I guess, it is easier to swallow some of thegrisly bits when done in undefined hazyness But the cover and art gall The artwork, while almost fitting to the tone of the story, was too murky mere impressions of outlines, shadowy faces lacking details.I understand that the story itself is dark and murky but that artwork confused meoften than not, as characters were over similar in looks with few distinguishing marks details I like for the art to further the story, not hinder it But I guess, it is easier to swallow some of thegrisly bits when done in undefined hazyness But the cover and art gallery in the back of the book were pretty cool. However, Ithan enjoyed the actual story arc, this filling in of a brushed over sub plot in the novel itself It was definitely worth the read, especially for fans of Dracula, a different view on a favorite tale. With better art, this would have been a must read 4 5 star graphic

Interesting adaptation of a brief scene that has been depicted in all the Dracula tellings, about the ship Demeter from Russia Transylvania Poland that travels across the water to deliver cargo to England As the voyage takes place there is almost a mutiny, crew members slowly disappear, and in the end it seems as though the captain of the ship has gone mad after tying his hands to the wheel and ensuring the boat docks in England This novel follows the brief period where Dracula was able to esc Interesting adaptation of a brief scene that has been depicted in all the Dracula tellings, about the ship Demeter from Russia Transylvania Poland that travels across the water to deliver cargo to England As the voyage takes place there is almost a mutiny, crew members slowly disappear, and in the end it seems as though the captain of the ship has gone mad after tying his hands to the wheel and ensuring the boat docks in England This novel follows the brief period where Dracula was able to escape to a new area and begin to cause chaos of a whole new kind.that is of course, before he came to America as well. Not bad, a good little quick read and I have always loved Dracula and Dracula retellings so this was greatly enjoyed
