OMG this guy writes as much as I do And this was fascinating all three 600 page volumes It's like being an eye witness to the American Revolution This guy wasI read this from an on line source paying particular attention to Stile's study of Chemistry at Yale with a mysterious Mr Initial forgotten somewhere I hope I have notes on this I had hopes of finding out who the visiting British professor of chemistry was only to find my hopes dashed when I was reading The First Salute by B Tuchman She tells the story of the sacking of Yale on p 158which inspired Stile to write GovTyron about the loss of books and manuscripts from his institution accusing him of conducting a 'war against science' No record of the papers was ever disclosed and it's possible that the mysterious Mr? has been lost to the Revolutionary War Or possibly information can be found in Townsend Charles Harvey The British Invasion of New Haven Connecticut New Haven 1879Also of note in this book are the numerous references to Mr Stiles wife who suffered a multitude of ills mostly described as fever
