The Tyche s crew of disparate misfits come home only to touch down in the centre of a multi sided brawl about the future of humanity Honestly, the amount of violence and gore in this book is incredible, as is the ability of Richard Parry to sustain the story through an amazing amount of mayhem From fists, claws and heads, through broken bottles and sharp blades, plasma handguns, hi tech laser rifles and masers, to ship borne heavy weapons and nukes, the fight tumbles from one scene to the ne The Tyche s crew of disparate misfits come home only to touch down in the centre of a multi sided brawl about the future of humanity Honestly, the amount of violence and gore in this book is incredible, as is the ability of Richard Parry to sustain the story through an amazing amount of mayhem From fists, claws and heads, through broken bottles and sharp blades, plasma handguns, hi tech laser rifles and masers, to ship borne heavy weapons and nukes, the fight tumbles from one scene to the next, and is carried forward by every one of the crew The enemy of one moment becomes an ally of convenience in the next Orphans of the fallen Empire s service battle the Republic s forces Simultaneously the Ezeroc infiltrate Earth, and try to capture Grace, destroy the Tyche, and defend their bases The sinister espers have an agenda of their own, so does organized crime, while Hope simply wants to make things right with Reiko. There are some similarities to the movie version of Starship Troopers, and Independence Day, but this is not a cheap imitation of either While personal loyalties bend and break, in the end what matters is family And we are all, first of all, human.I do suggest that one not read this book without first reading Tyche s Flight because here the reader is flung headfirst into non stop action If one does not already know who is who, I believe the intensity of the story will leave an unprepared reader hopelessly confused

Nate and Gracea couple I love this rag tag crew complete with all their flaws They are truly family You will root for them, shake your head at times, laugh along with them and even at them and shed a tear or two along the way Mr Parry might get wordy from time but you will forgive his wordiness just so you can continue the saga A close to perfect blend of a family of crewmembers, creepy, skin crawling invaders the insectoid Ezeroc , a Republic infested by these creatures and an offer Nate and Gracea couple I love this rag tag crew complete with all their flaws They are truly family You will root for them, shake your head at times, laugh along with them and even at them and shed a tear or two along the way Mr Parry might get wordy from time but you will forgive his wordiness just so you can continue the saga A close to perfect blend of a family of crewmembers, creepy, skin crawling invaders the insectoid Ezeroc , a Republic infested by these creatures and an offer to join up with a depleted rebel Empire to save humanity What possibly is not to like But best of all, Mr Parry offers hope Hope that the good guys will win out I m starting number 3 I can hardly wait to see what happens to Tyche s family next time

Very tenseThe struggle of the ship Tyche continues and the challenges escalate More key characters are introduced The new characters slot into the story easily The aliens take on a new dimension and the threat they pose to humanity continues the horror novel feel.Good writing and relationships that fit the story I m looking forward to the next volume.

It took me a while with my vision difficulties, but my daughter and I finally read this book 2 together and it definitely didn t disappoint. It continues the tale of a disfunctional spaceship crew, actuallyof a family, that work well together, not only because they have to, but because they want to.This episode in the series has constant thrills and action, both on the ground and, how the author describes space, in the hard black.I can t wait for the next book in this wonderful sci fi seri It took me a while with my vision difficulties, but my daughter and I finally read this book 2 together and it definitely didn t disappoint. It continues the tale of a disfunctional spaceship crew, actuallyof a family, that work well together, not only because they have to, but because they want to.This episode in the series has constant thrills and action, both on the ground and, how the author describes space, in the hard black.I can t wait for the next book in this wonderful sci fi series.Another awesome job from Mr Parry

We re not outnumbered We ve just got a wider selection of targets.Read Tyche s Flight first and then Tyche s Journey immediately after this one Non stop action A well defined plot and twists and turns that are always unexpected Almost unbearable tension Characters you want to read a lotabout A ship crew that is as much about betrayal as it is loyalty.Way too much shooting with blasters Bodies are blown into a red mist, blown into chunks, or set on fire You might get used to it We re not outnumbered We ve just got a wider selection of targets.Read Tyche s Flight first and then Tyche s Journey immediately after this one Non stop action A well defined plot and twists and turns that are always unexpected Almost unbearable tension Characters you want to read a lotabout A ship crew that is as much about betrayal as it is loyalty.Way too much shooting with blasters Bodies are blown into a red mist, blown into chunks, or set on fire You might get used to it Anyway, I could only give the book a 4.5 stars The five stars is a rounding exercise

A good rollicking space opera There is hardly time to draw breath from one moment to the next but that s part of the fun.

This is a series where you do have to start with book one Tyche s Flight otherwise you will be lost to of some of the subtext with the characters as well as what is the reasoning behind this non stop action packed second part of the series The crew is dealing with problems from within their dysfunctional family and they need to get it together or the enemy that can take you apart from the mind out will not only tear them apart but all of humanity in it s wake. There is a lot of fre enemy relatio This is a series where you do have to start with book one Tyche s Flight otherwise you will be lost to of some of the subtext with the characters as well as what is the reasoning behind this non stop action packed second part of the series The crew is dealing with problems from within their dysfunctional family and they need to get it together or the enemy that can take you apart from the mind out will not only tear them apart but all of humanity in it s wake. There is a lot of fre enemy relationships in this series Those that were firing at you one minute may be shaking hands and making a deal at the end of the day.It s great seeing the growth in Kohl especially as he is warring with his mercenary side against his secret desire to belong to a family Seeing the family grow and evolve into a tight knit cohesive unit is great.Their journey towards saving themselves and the human race is filled with weapons, blood and guts galore Combine that with dry sarcastic wit and non stop action where up is down and down is up at times keeps you on a knifes edge as you hope they are successful in their seat of the pants plans.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
