Not really what I expected The synopsis suggested it might have been a story about race, about how ignorant the Europeans in Australia were and how badly they treated the aborigines, but that there were a few good people around who felt this treatment was wrong Instead, it was a story of sexual abuse and predation, ignorance and stupidity, lack of information and education It made for a tough read Really, there wasn t much that grabbed me about this book not the characters, not the story, Not really what I expected The synopsis suggested it might have been a story about race, about how ignorant the Europeans in Australia were and how badly they treated the aborigines, but that there were a few good people around who felt this treatment was wrong Instead, it was a story of sexual abuse and predation, ignorance and stupidity, lack of information and education It made for a tough read Really, there wasn t much that grabbed me about this book not the characters, not the story, not the writing

This book seems so promising, it was everything I would ever want in a novel But again and again I just could not get through it I only made it until page 60 when I had to finally put it down and put it into my donation pile.
