A fun romp of mayhem and madnessI wanted something light and fun to read after some heavy and emotionally draining novels and this was just the ticket I would say it is perfectly delightful holiday reading The kind of book you can pick up and read with enjoyment in between sunbathing and swimming and not too intellectually draining or depressing or needing concentration It is the sort of book people describe as madcap with plenty of humour It is plot driven rather than character driven and with so many couples and Fidels I sometimes forgot who belonged to who and although set in Cuba it could have been eually a Greek or any other hot Island in the sun as not much of Cuba or its history or people hits you particularly Sometimes it struck me as a cross between Dad's Army and a Brian Rix or Ealing comedy and if you enjoy that kind of tongue in cheek British comedy classic stuff then this is a good read I never doubted for a minute that the Conundrum wouldn't be solved somehow or that the marooned couples If it seems too good to be true Then it is too good to be true wouldn't come through it muddle through but it was Without being deep and meaningful or profound and thought provoking Just a very good fun read and absolutely nothing wrong with reading a fun lighthearted book like this from time to time So fun and entertaining basically A delightful delicious starter rather than a many flavoured main or a heavy pudding of a book Great fun

The Cuban Conundrum by M K Turner is not something I would normally readbut since the author was kind enough to send me a copy the least I could do was to give it and tryThe story starts with five couple being offered a free one week holiday in Cubathe only stipulation being that they had to take back with them all the gifts that they had purchased from the market on they’re previous visit to Cubaall simple and straightforwardor is itWhen the five couples return it soon becomes clear that all is not what it seems as they join forces to solve the puzzle of the Mistro familyOverall a good often humorous storyline which I am now glad that I decided to give it a goI would like once again to thank the author for the copy of The Cuban Conundrum
