Can't believe I finished this one And after so long 3 months to be exactI've started this book right after finishing the previous one Well 3 months ago At the time I just couldn't connect to the characters or the story At all So I've put it on hold After days and days of reading only a few pages per day and rolling my eyes I've decided to take a break After a very busy summer today I got back to this one and I just can't believe I was able to finish it Somehow I was expecting to give up But the last 30% of the book convinced me to keep readingIt's too sugary sweet pretty light and with only a little drama but overall this book was OK I'm glad I can add it to my reading challenge I hate not finishing books so this one wasn't that bad It's not my favorite from these authors and it isn't my favorite book in this series I enjoyed the first book much I can't wait to read the next one hoping I'll love it much

35 StarsAnother entertaining entry to this series this was easy romance readingThe same theme continues as MC Hayden is trying to move on from an asshat ex boyfriend and really just wants to find his place in the world and to finally have a bit of fun with his freedom When Hayden becomes the roommate of carefree laid back Cody who lives at the Metropolis things look promising as Cody offers to help Hayden get his jollies off by being his wingman These two become fast friends and their single life antics might bother some view spoiler as they casually hook up with each other and enjoy a threeome together hide spoiler

35Enjoyed it but didn't feel the spark the first book had Like the last book I really enjoyed the characters They really make these books They're all so different in their personalities and bring something different to their group of friends that it makes you theoretically happy to hang out with them Especially Derek That boy makes me laugh so hard with his antics and with the stuff that he says I can't wait to read his book Hayden had some insecurities after his breakup It got a little annoying there for a bit when he kept letting the things his ex said or did interfere with him moving on Cory was good for him He's pretty laid back about sex and basically everything Guys like him who make a joke about everything usually have some lingering hurts of there own hidden under those uick retorts of humor The problem I had with him was he was too laid back and not serious enough for me He was when it mattered I suppose but he never got deep enough for me I really loved his relationship with Doc You really got to see his real side when it came to his feelings for Doc who took him in at 15 when his parents kicked him out and he was on the streets I loved the way Cory appreciated everything and looked at brighter side of everything I loved how he encouraged Hayden and made him feel comfortable in his skin once again They had a really good relationship and some serious chemistry and burned up the sheets with their sexy timesGood but I still enjoyed the first book Happy reading dolls xx

Edit 316So I lied I didn't put it on hold; it wouldn't let me Anyhoo things that didn't bother me in the first book bothered me in this one The tropiness The sex jokes The douche ex boyfriendThis time around I was looking for something a bit different but this story having many of the same components as the first one made this one feel flat to me Which made me sad I hate rating authors I love low but I have to be honest I still have mad love for Riley Hart and Devon McCormack and I will always look out for their books Sadly we can't love 'em all 31517On Hold 59%Boo I love these two authors but I'm not feeling this one I'm not connecting with the story I'm going to shelve it for now and read something else and come back to it at a later date No rating

4 StarsI've spent the past few days contemplating my rating for this one and although I had some personal niggles relating to the characters promiscuous attitudes towards sex I've decided that those are my own personal hang ups and a book that so easily entertained me from start to finish providing low angst drama hot sexy times and sweet lovey dovey moments deserves some positive recognition from my end Hayden and Cody are the focus couple in this one having both been introduced but never having met until now as Gary and Travis' best friends respectively in Faking It Hayden's fresh out of a three year relationship with a douche nozzle and he needs a new place to live pronto Enter life loving tattoo artist Cody Having personally experienced what it's like to fall on hard times and be fortunate enough to have some generous stranger open their home to him Cody decides to give back and take Hayden on as a roommate The two hit it off immediately uickly forming an effortless friendship and satisfying home routine that brings them closer every day And if they occasionally engage in some meaningless sexual escapades together well no one can blame the two young hot single men from having fun when the opportunity presents itself over and over and over again Needless to say the whole no strings attached friends with benefits situation only lasts so long with the guys who refreshingly own up to their developing feelings as they occurred There was no denial here which was so great and such a change of pace for this kind of story Instead as soon as Cody recognises his growing crush on Hayden he basically just says as much and the two share an honest conversation admitting to wanting to see where things would take them without placing any unrealistic demands on each other so soon in their new friendshiprelationship I enjoyed this aspect of the story greatly although I could have done without all the insistence by Cody that Hayden keep dating around to see what else is out there after having so soon gotten out of a long term relationship Thankfully that nonsense is short lived and neither is with any other characters from the moment they first acknowledge their growing feelings view spoilerAlthough as some other reviews have mentioned earlier in the piece before the feels truly occur Hayden and Cody engage in a tasty menage experience with a horny little twink Readers will react to this event differently I'm sure but I was fine with it because there was no relationship yet in progress so to speak Plus I'd rather they fuck some guy together than be off having solo sexual exploits with random characters hide spoiler

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱Cute but meh⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱ Eh this wasn't all that bad however it wasn't great either It was a nice read about Hayden ‘boo’ what's his last name? 30? Soon to be 30? and Cody ‘C’ Dean what's his last name? 28 becoming close friends and realizing that the chemistry they have is pretty rare I love books about strong friendships turning into so it was a alright read Overall I had expected like a little action or something but it is what it is and I need to find something else to read now God I hate trying to find new books to read “You have such a sexy ass Cody It’s been killing me not to take it We’ve been playing with fire you and me”“Let’s go up in flames” uick basic factsGenre Adult Contemporary Romance MMSeries Series Standalone? Soooo much better than the first one in the series I loved these twoThey were perfect for each other this weird mix of super sweet and dirty that made me sigh I liked how they talked their minds and didn't spend half the book with internal conflicts that were only in their mindsAnd the sex was hawt there is a threesome with a hungry little sailor as the meat of that sandwich that got me fanning myself And did I mention Cody's Prince Albert??? Great secondary characters as well I really liked Dom and Hayden's mom The Metropolis family keeps on growing and I cannot wait for crazy twink Derek's turn

DNF at 20%While I liked all the other books in the series this one isn't working for me I've had trouble liking Hayden from the moment he got introduced in the first book I feel like he has no real personality He can be shy he can be dominant he can be a doormat he can be forceful He was just so all over the placeWell one miss in this series isn't so bad

I have mixed feelings about this book I read it way faster than the first one so that gives it points but at the same time this one had a lot of little things that bothered meIt pains me so much to not enjoy these books because the first HartMcCormack colab was so good I loved that book but I'm just not connecting with this new series
