Can Mandy break the chain of her bad luck? This charming early chapter book with delightful illustrations is a fun adventure that encourages children to be responsible and shares a bit of Irish culture Highly recommended for children ages seven through ten

A great story for young readers Rosco is a rascally dog that keeps you entertained This story is of the luck from leprechauns during St Patrick's Day and what happens if you lose your luck A feel good story that will keep kids entertained as they listen to the story This is my honest opinion of an advanced reader copy

Roco the Rascal at the St Patrick's Day Parade is a Magical bookRosco the Rascal at the St Patrick’s Day Parade by Shana Gorian is a magical children’s book for St Patrick’s Day This is book number four in her Rosco the Rascal series I read the book with my second grade class and they absolutely loved it The fun begins when James and Mandy go to New York City to march in the St Patrick’s Day Parade with Rosco their German Shepard and his pal Sparks a pug who belongs to their neighbor The story continues with Mandy losing Sparks after a Yorkie nips his ear and Sparks runs away Mandy catches up with her brother James and tells him what has happened Meanwhile Mandy is convinced she’s been jinxed with bad luck by the Leprechauns because she didn’t want to make a Leprechaun Trap for the school project Her brother assures her that is impossible because of the legend of the three wishes According to the Irish folklore legend if you catch a Leprechaun he must grant you three wishes in exchange for his freedom James Mandy and Rosco set out to find Sparks in the crowded parade As luck would have it they meet a Leprechaun in the parade named Mr O’Donnell Mandy rushes up to him and asks him if the legend of the three wishes is true Of course the legend is true O’Donnell exclaims Why do you ask? Mandy tells him how the Leprechauns jinxed her with bad luck and how she lost Sparks “Oh no that's a sad story” O’Donnell says “let me see what I can do to help you” Mandy only has two wishes to find Sparks and have her good luck restored O’Donnell disappears into the crowd Now Rosco sniffs a familiar scent and the children let him lead the way to the rainbow float Will Rosco find a treasure at the end of the rainbow float? You will have to read the book to find out This book is delightful for children of all ages It includes a vocabulary page of Irish words that will make the children giggle 5 Stars for Rosco the Rascal at the St Patrick’s Day Parade

This is a delightful story for young readers that feels like something children could actually have happen in their own lives and that makes it even funMandy and James are brother and sister They have a German Shepherd named Rosco Mandy is also taking care of a neighbor's dog Sparks When they all go to the St Patrick's day parade Sparks comes up missing and the hunt to find him begins The story includes some legends and folklore about Leprechaun's and makes this a great adventure for all

  6. Ellen Buikema Ellen Buikema says:

Great family funI enjoyed the way Irish folklore was woven into this entertaining story of James Mandy their intelligent dog Rosco and Sparks the pug Sparks is lost in the St Patrick’s Day Parade Is Mandy’s luck lost just like Sparks? Could the cause be leprechauns’ shenanigans? This is a wonderful children’s chapter book fun for all ages

  7. Kathryn Baron Kathryn Baron says:

I was disappointed that the interior illustrations were not comparable to the cover Also I am told that the story is disappointing Rosco is not rascally enough and despite the title had far to little to do for far too long A book about dogs not kids was desired

Okay at bestThe younger readers this is aimed at will find the parade details interesting and the glossary helpful They will probably enjoy the idea of leprechaun traps I just found some parts to be unnecessarily repetitive
