This book is wonderful Although older it's informative on things than I would've even thought about really well organized and even funny

Gardening in the Lower Midwest is an wonderful book for gardeners struggling in what Diane Heilenman aptly describes as the Zombie Zones in the lower Midwest where it is too hot too cold too wet and too dry all in the same year While I like most people am attracted to gardening and cook books with photos this book despite its lack of photos or drawings gives you sound advice on general gardening as well as specific advice on plants; landscape flowers and vegetables It is a must read for all gardners along the Ohio River If you are put off by the lack of photos get another book with photos to accompany you as you read this significant work
