I really love anthologies and this is a prime example of why I probably never would have chosen to read this book if it wasn’t part of the DSP Advent Calendar but I am very happy I did Crashing the Party is definitely one of my favorite reads of the calendar so farFrom the fluffy cuteness to the comedy and the discreet flirting on Kale’s part this book was everything I needed in a holiday story While Kale was withdrawn and a little on the uiet side albeit very dedicated to his job Wes had that personality that filled the entire room and then some He was forward and bold while still being charming and charismatic and I absolutely loved these MCs right from the beginningThe blurb says all you can really say about the plot without retelling the story and I assure you Ginger Streusel did a fantastic job so I’m not going to spoil it for you but I will say that this is definitely worth the read and I highly recommend it Even if you’re not going to read the entire advent calendar at least pick this one up Reviewed by Jordan at Alpha Book ClubDisclaimer This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review All thoughts and opinions expressed herein are my own and not influenced by the author or the publisher in any way

35 starsOkay first of all KALE Green?? Seriously I need to uestion his parents’ idea of a name laugh Poor Kale His childhood was probably not fun Anyway this was a cute established relationship story – but the structure of it threw me off in the beginningSee the story opens with Kale calling his boyfriend’s house and telling Wes that he will be there soon But then then the scene changes to the previous year when Kale first met Wes I was really confused because there wasn’t any ‘sign’ that it would switch into the past In fact I had to re read the story from the beginning to make sure that it wasn’t a glitch somehowHowever after I was familiarized with the structure I was able to enjoy it Kale has the worst luck when it comes to his car whenever he goes to South Georgia But it also gives him the chance to meet Wes who co owns an automotive shopI thought they were cute together Wes has a sunny disposition so it is easy to believe how Kale was charmed by him Wes also teaches Kale a lot about cars That part where Kale is so proud of being able to change the tire by himself amused me so much Now that is a good relationship laughIn conclusion I enjoyed this – and since Ginger Streusel is a new to me author I might check out her other or future storiesA Guest Review for The Blogger Girls The ARC is provided by the publisher for an exchange of fair and honest review No high rating is reuired for any ARC received

“Besides a boyfriend wasn’t like a college couch—you couldn’t pick one up off the side of the road” – Kale GreenWhile Kale is not a “dedicated” Grinch he does dislike the holidays to the point that he gets annoyed with all the Christmas music not to mention the insane traffic And I can see where he is coming from his boss makes him work until the last second traveling to meet clients all over his sales territory and with the bad luck he’s had on the road and with his car it makes sense for him to be less than enthusiasticBut all that changes when he meets a car mechanic named Wes Well not immediately but I could see the writing on the wall so to speak when they first ran into each other Actually Wes runs his truck into the back of Kale’s company car then there is the flat Wes can’t deal with a couple of weeks later and since they really get along they take it from there Contrary to Kale’s statement earlier in the story it seems that he can pick up a boyfriend off the side of the road sort ofIf you like accidental meetings that lead to if you think that two men who live hours apart deserve a chance at happiness and if you’re looking for a read full of misery followed by lots of Christmas cheer then you will probably like this entertaining short storyNOTE This book was provided by Dreamspinner Press for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews

Unicorn Group Jizzmas Review35 HeartsKale Green Not jolly or greenKale’s supposedly a Grinch but car trouble on Christmas Eve will make anyone fussy ammiright? And his company car Bessie is either in on fixing Kale up with a AAA wizard or just plain ole unreliable I'm not sure which but I'd be looking to trade Bessie in Wes Armstrong is described as a lumberjack type but I didn’t read anything about facial hair so I’m guessing he’s a big un in flannel I’m fine with either and Wes reads like good people and a ginger soThis story wasn’t over the top with the Santa Jizz but there is a dash of sentimentality I also liked the flashback angle of how they met and how their relationship has progressed up to the current Christmas Eve Just the right amount of seasonal charm and a feel good holiday treat from Ginger Streusel Seriously how can you not be warmed by that name alone? 35 Hearts A light hearted story with a trip down memory road with Kale Green as he drives home to celebrate Christmas Eve with his boyfriend Wes It was cute to see how Kale views the holiday and how the spirit crashed into him the year before to change it all Yup crashed as in Wes the handsome ginger of the lumbersexual but mechanic profession persuasion crashed into Kale one dark and icy night which lead to them sharing space heat food and conversation until the police arrived Besides a boyfriend wasn’t like a college couch—you couldn’t pick one up off the side of the road We get the meet cute and then we get the next time Kale comes into town this time with a flat and how he tries to flirt with Wes only to have it end with them only exchanging business cards Three is always a lucky number and they men finally connect and we get the rest of the story with them a year later We Unicorn's are reviewing the Dreamspinner 2016 Advent Calendar every Sunday Jizzmas gang bang style on the blog with the unis who are Santa Jizzians and the Grumpicorns Check out the rest of the reviews for this story here

I love Dreamspinner's Advent Calendar series I love a sweet short story that totally pulls me in Kale is a printer salesman with a bit of bad car karma He gets into a car accident on Christmas Eve when Wes slips on ice and slides into his back bumper Then when he is back in town on New Years Eve he winds up with a flat When Wes shows up as the tow truck driver Kale thinks his bad luck just might be changing I love how the story flips from present to past It was cute and entertaining Kale Green such an unfortunate name is just one example of the charm found in this story

3 HeartsThis one started a bit weird for me I went back and re read the beginning because it almost felt like I was thrown into a story at the midway part It got better as the story went on which tied everything together a bit This was a cute established relationship Christmastime story Kale Green his parents were comedians apparently LOL is a travelling salesman He is always busy as the majority of his time is spent out of town During the holiday season which usually doesn’t bring much joy to Kale he is uite literally put on a collision course with Wes ArmstrongWes loves everything about the holiday and the Christmas season He meets Kale under not the greatest circumstances but the two both feel the connection pretty early onThis book mainly focuses on Kale travelling to get back to Wes in time to celebrate the holiday We get small glimpses into their relationship and honestly their relationship is cute from the tiny bits of information we getThis one was ok Really short and maybe not laid out the best but a super uick cute read This book was provided free in exchange for a fair and honest review for Love Bytes Go there to check out other reviews author interviews and all those awesome giveaways Click below

Kale's luck threatens to change when a Christmas crash caused him to face a charming fellow driver who had a lot of Christmas spirit Kale is heading home for a lonely but fun night after having to work on Christmas Eve But the weather doesn't seem to be on his side and when he faces troubles with his company car his night might ended up being a little different than he expected CRASHING THE PARTY was a cute and fun story The characters were very endearing and I liked how their relationship didn't felt forced; it was very realistic which is always something that I look for while reading romance I loved how we got to see than just one scene into their lives; it was very nice The structure of the story was confusing at some point because I didn't think the change from past to present was anyhow relevant to the reader but aside from that fact I really liked how it was written In general a very enjoyable reading
