Original review can be found at I received an advanced readers copy directly from the author and JKS Communications in exchange for an honest review Thank you I have read all of the books in The Maxwell Series so I was excited to get to know Kross and his story It is not necessary to read the others in order to follow along but I recommend it simply because the series is enjoyable.I did not like this instalment as much as the ones before it It was Original review can be found at I received an advanced readers copy directly from the author and JKS Communications in exchange for an honest review Thank you I have read all of the books in The Maxwell Series so I was excited to get to know Kross and his story It is not necessary to read the others in order to follow along but I recommend it simply because the series is enjoyable.I did not like this instalment as much as the ones before it It was an entertaining story but I enjoyed the previous ones better Kross, like all of his other brothers, was easy to like With his rugged good looks, strong family ties and sense of loyalty, how could I not I loved the bond that he shared with his brothers Being a twin, I understood the closeness that they shared.I struggled a little bit with Ruby I wanted to like her and I wanted a happily ever after with Kross but her character bugged me onthan a couple of occasions She was in a terrible situation and was suppose to be trying to prove that she was responsible and able to care for her daughter However, her actions were the total opposite She was late for a fight that would have provided her with some much needed funds because she needed time to herself Granted, it was an illegal fight but still She was desperate for money and wanted her daughter back so bad but didn t even have a good excuse for being late She also refused help, refused to listen and pretty much did whatever she wanted even though it hindered instead of helped her situation I was frustrated with her character a lot So much so that I didn t fully feel the connection or chemistry between Ruby and Kross.Even though I was frustrated on a few occasions I still liked the story Unless faced with a situation like Ruby s one can never say how they would deal with it Although it was my least favourite of the series thus far I was still happy to get my fill of Maxwell brothers I also look forward to the next in the series There is still one Maxwell brother to hear from and I would also be really happy if Dillon got a story or series of his own In fact, I REALLY want Dillon gets his own book

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here Well personally this book was a shit show The character flaws and plot line really got to me and honestly I can t beleive it s part of the same series The author did a swell job from the start of building the hero as an u likable asshat As the book progressed where I probably should have been falling in love with him, instead I only hated himI m disgusted over how he treated Ruby and the end of their relationship His literal avoidance of her and dismissal of her was frankly disgusting Well personally this book was a shit show The character flaws and plot line really got to me and honestly I can t beleive it s part of the same series The author did a swell job from the start of building the hero as an u likable asshat As the book progressed where I probably should have been falling in love with him, instead I only hated himI m disgusted over how he treated Ruby and the end of their relationship His literal avoidance of her and dismissal of her was frankly disgusting especially since it s clear he had no trouble moving on As for ruby, she was a interesting character and while I fully supported her even she posed me off after awhile I mean the fact that neither of them saw through Trent and actually gave into him made me want to throw down the book for good I skimmed sex scenes because they felt dirty, I didn t want them together and I certainly didn t feel myself rooting for them I did appreciate the book dealing with so many issued such as homelessness, life on the streets, prostitution, selling drugs and , the heavy subjects were pretty much all only in Ruby s life and it was exhausting and honestly depressing I just did not like this

I haved loved the Maxwell Series since it s beginning I loved how each brother is unique I have since fallen a bit behind in their releases and when I saw Dare to Dream was my next review I was ecstatic Although I loved the premise of the book I got from the blurb, it overall fell flat for me I loved the characters on the whole as I will always identify with young parents, but there were some flaws I considered to be deal breakers.Kross Maxwell was always the quiet, dedicated, and mysterious I haved loved the Maxwell Series since it s beginning I loved how each brother is unique I have since fallen a bit behind in their releases and when I saw Dare to Dream was my next review I was ecstatic Although I loved the premise of the book I got from the blurb, it overall fell flat for me I loved the characters on the whole as I will always identify with young parents, but there were some flaws I considered to be deal breakers.Kross Maxwell was always the quiet, dedicated, and mysterious brother I have been anticipating getting into his head from the beginning What I didn t expect was for him to end up being so rude when it came to his past Honestly, that took a bit to get over as it was not very Maxwell of him to treat a lady like that However, he really didn t know about the baby as he was accidentally misled and he definitely was ready to step up fast.Ruby wasn t as described either and that is both good and bad I thought we would have gottenof how she wanted to be a ballerina and the fighting wasn t really what all she was doing that whole time to provide for herself I loved her dedication to doing whatever to get her child back She was rightfully ruthless in that regard I however could not get on board with her half attempts at getting ahold of Kross phones just don t cut it and how she treated him when he found her She treated him like he willingly left them to dry for almost four years I also adored how she had no issues calling Kross out when he was being possessive I do always love a straight shooter.Overall, this book was okay despite the one central storyline issue I had It was a good bridge to continue on with the series and I would still recommend the series as a whole The characters are resilient and hard workers I will be happy to get their updates through out the rest of the series

2.5 StarsI know I m going to be in the minority but I found it disappointing I wanted a big story for Kross as we didn t really know a lot about him He held a lot of promise, however, I was let down I knew going into this that it was going to be a second chance romance which I adore I also knew that Ruby had a secret and I wished and wished and wished it wasn t what I thought it was going to be Well, my wishing didn t pay off and it did end up being what I thought it would be Now, let 2.5 StarsI know I m going to be in the minority but I found it disappointing I wanted a big story for Kross as we didn t really know a lot about him He held a lot of promise, however, I was let down I knew going into this that it was going to be a second chance romance which I adore I also knew that Ruby had a secret and I wished and wished and wished it wasn t what I thought it was going to be Well, my wishing didn t pay off and it did end up being what I thought it would be Now, let me say that it is possible to write a good story using the secret so I didn t immediately discount this because of that However, I don t like how this one was handled Ruby and her decisions were what killed the book for me I had to put the book down and walk away from it numerous times due to Ruby s decisions It took me almost 2 weeks to finish this book where I will normally finish a book in 24hrs all of the previous books in the series were 1 day reads for me.Now, I do understand why Ruby made the decision she did in the beginning because if I were in her shoes I can t say that I would have made a different one BUT, I can say that I would have tried to get in contact with his family when all else failed I can somewhat get over that because she was young and scared BUT where Ruby lost me was when the shit hit the fan in her life and she found herself homeless At that point to me her motivation became selfish Unfortunately those selfish reasons showed up fairly early 7% in the book I d wanted to find him, but with how crazy my life had been with my parents and Raven, there was never a good time Now that I was homeless, it definitely was not a good time So..let me get this right For 4 years your life was too crazy AND now that your homeless its still not a good time for you HELLO When at the bottom you look for a hand up, put your pride aside, and reach out for help Unfortunately from that point on her excuses were variations of I don t want him to see me like this or I m dirty and homeless Don t get me wrongI understand pride BUT Raven was the one who suffered Raven could have never endured what she did if Ruby would have just put her pride aside Eventually she did BUT Kross pursued her relentlessly for over 50% of the book begging for her to come clean with him he knew in Chapter 1 and found Ruby in Chapter 2 or in the early parts of Chapter 3 When she did fess up it was just too late for me to find any sympathy for her or her circumstances My other problem with Ruby was that she was not the girl described in the synopsis I expected a tough as nails girl who was fighting literally for a better life That s not what we got Was she strong in some ways Yes it takes a lot to survive on the streets and to do what she did for Raven However, the strength I was looking for and needed for me to love her character just wasn t there Finally..Kross I was also let down by his character He accepted way to much responsibility for what happened Did he make mistakes Absolutely Did he try to remedy those mistakes Absolutely Did he deserved to carry ALL the weight of those mistakes No I felt that Kross never forced Ruby to answer for her decision that ultimately caused pain for Raven, Kross, and Kross family He deservedfrom her and she deserved some of his anger When he tracked her down after finding out about Raven he didn t deserve for her to run from him EVERY SINGLE TIME He tried and tried and tried to get her to speak to him but she was too concerned about him seeing her dirty Unfortunately, Kross became a pushover.I wanted to like this book but the combination of Ruby and Kross just didn t work for me Ruby wasn t a strong character and Kross became a weak character in this book The writing and emotion that Susan wrote and tried to convey in the story is the only reason I can give this bookthan 1 star I can see how she tried to pull on the heart strings and how she tried to make it a beautiful reunion I also think that many people will love this book For me though, it just didn t work
