I can honestly say I never get tired of reading books by Kitty Neale and this one was another fabulous read The story starts in the late 40 s and again like her other books is set in Battersea and Kent Right from the start I was pulled right into the story and didn t want to put it down I highly recommend this book if you re a fan of sagas My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC I voluntarily reviewed this book and my opinion is entirely my own.

Was this book written by two different people I loved the first half of this book gritty, fast paced, just couldn t put it down and then suddenly the second half was totally different Fast forward 20yrs, the 2 lovely main characters are noUnfinished bits why was Ross so anti how did the second Purvis brother die incest but that was ok in the end almost like a second person finished this book off very strange.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here Didn t really enjoy this at all Violent male characters, incest, deaths..all a bit far fetched for a woman and daughter to have so much bad luck The characters grated on my nerves Shame, because I borrowed it from the library on its opening reviews But don t let me put you off, there are plenty of readers who lived it, just not my cup of tea.

This was my first book by Kitty Neale and really enjoyed it.The first half of the book was set in 1947 and moved on to twenty years later in 1967 A sad story about abuse, loss and sacrifice. Some lovely realistic characters such as Glenda, Helen and Jackie. If I could rate A Mother s Sacrifice in two parts, I would give 5 for the first half and 4 for the second half At times it seemed like two different books to me and I loved the first half .I loved Kitty Neale s style of writing and will This was my first book by Kitty Neale and really enjoyed it.The first half of the book was set in 1947 and moved on to twenty years later in 1967 A sad story about abuse, loss and sacrifice. Some lovely realistic characters such as Glenda, Helen and Jackie. If I could rate A Mother s Sacrifice in two parts, I would give 5 for the first half and 4 for the second half At times it seemed like two different books to me and I loved the first half .I loved Kitty Neale s style of writing and will definitely be readingfrom this author. Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for providing a copy of this book and this is my honest review

This saga set after the Second World War, is pretty average Harry and Glenda are married, they have a baby son named Jonnie Harry is a bully with a jealous temper Glenda is taken to hospital after a beating from Harry She meets gentle porter Frank and they run away together Glenda has to leave Jonnie behind which breaks her heart Later on Glenda falls pregnant with Polly and the book then tells of Polly s story.
