Wicked Disreguard , a gritty novel set in Manitoba, is everything one would hope to find in a suspense novel, plus a Christian father and son who live out their faith in every area of their lives It is a compelling read in spite of the horror of the crimes a reader can see how faith based folks live in a world where evil sometimes seems to win It is the third offering in the Finders Keepers Mystery series, and I suggest reading the series in order to understand various events.Christine Smith Wicked Disreguard , a gritty novel set in Manitoba, is everything one would hope to find in a suspense novel, plus a Christian father and son who live out their faith in every area of their lives It is a compelling read in spite of the horror of the crimes a reader can see how faith based folks live in a world where evil sometimes seems to win It is the third offering in the Finders Keepers Mystery series, and I suggest reading the series in order to understand various events.Christine Smith and her partner Chief, a search and rescue dog, are investigators Her parents were murdered when she was five, and the murderer s has yet to be apprehended She was considering stepping into her father s footsteps and running his company and was working with her attorney, Barkley, to determine whether selling or managing it would be best for her Christine rented a workspace in Barkley s son Jeremy s office Christine was not a believer, which kept Jeremy from following his heart to pursue her asthan a friend.Christine s new client was a woman whose 12 year old daughter Samantha disappeared She is a good student with well behaved friends, and is close to her mother, Sylvia What Christine learned from Sergeant Irving at the local police station about the high probability of Samantha being kidnapped to be used in human trafficking sickened her The author, through Jeremy, gave one of the best explanations for evil, particularly about the sins of Christians who harmed children or adults that I ve heard, and admirably demonstrates how Christians pray.An attempt on her life convinced her that she was getting too close to one of the situations Jeremy went with Christine as she investigated various leads on Samantha Sergeant Irving understood the risks, yet he could not expend the man hours for his department to look into her leads He suggested that whatever they find, they could contact him and the police would follow up on it.The characters are excellently portrayed Jeremy and Christine are very likable Christine is an exceptional woman who wants to rely only on herself and her dog, Chief Jeremy is the kind of young man that many parents would want their daughter to fall in love with He is responsible, considerate, and his faith is mirrored in his daily life Other characters, including suspects, are defined as needed for their roles. This author proves that a suspense novel can be realistic without the using vulgarity or explicit sex When describing the acts done to the children, she wrote tactfully without being offensive, yet it could be shocking to some readers The suspense builds with each plot twist and turn Many scenes bring edge of the seat tension as the action unfolds Overall, I appreciated the novel and the outcomes The mysteries kept the novel outstandingly captivating The murderer of her parents was not someone I could easily point to, and was surprised at the outcome for both crimes I highly recommend Wicked Disregard to those who appreciate clean, yet realistic mysteries that include Christianity demonstrated but not preachy The reader who looks for likable protagonists and challenging cases will definitely appreciate this novel This might be a bit too realistic for teens or others who are sensitive to crimes against children. With a grateful heart, I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Network in exchange for an honest review All opinions are my own, and no monetary compensation was received

I enjoyed this book because the author writes with intensity and doesn t back down from details The subject matter may be difficult for some, but it is one that needs to be exposed and made known to the world Human trafficking is everywhere and the author writes a powerful story that pulls you in with the brutal honesty of this ongoing crisis It is a fictional story, but it could easily be on the front page of any newspaper today , which makes this book so emotional and real Christine Smith I enjoyed this book because the author writes with intensity and doesn t back down from details The subject matter may be difficult for some, but it is one that needs to be exposed and made known to the world Human trafficking is everywhere and the author writes a powerful story that pulls you in with the brutal honesty of this ongoing crisis It is a fictional story, but it could easily be on the front page of any newspaper today , which makes this book so emotional and real Christine Smith has opened an investigation agency that looks for lost children Her latest investigation has her dodging bullets and wondering what she has gotten herself into Her service dog, Chief is masterfully written as a well bred, well trained dog who will protect Christine at all costs She still has a mystery to solve that happened along time ago as well as finding out who is behind the human trafficking of children Who killed her parents Does their deaths put Christine in danger Jeremy is a very determined young man who wants to protect Christine His job gets harder when Christine continues to put her life in danger Has she stumbled onto where the missing children are being held Who is behind the inhumane treatment of these innocent children I loved the emotions the authors presented as Christine gets desperate to help these children She hates the thought of one child being harmed and it makes her feel helpless The combination of Christine and Jeremy working together is well written and at times the story made me cry as the author takes us to the dark and sinister world of human trafficking and pedophiles You could fell the sheer terror these children must of felt when it seemed hopeless for a rescue to happen The story has intense scenes that kept me glued to the book There was several things that really stick out to be and pierced my soul These perverts kill the minds of their victims as well as their bodies It is a powerful trip for them to have total control of these young kids and there are no such things as coincidences God loves you and sent angels to protect you Gods word says so Will this help Christine give her heart to Will she be able to trust Him and let Him guide her to save the chi,Daren before its to late The book has reminded me that human trafficking happens everyday around us There are pedophiles in every neighborhood just waiting and watching The author has written a book that reminds us that evil is out there.I received a copy of this book from Thr BookClub Network for an honest review

This is the third book in a series I have not read the earlier books and found this one to be quite confusing Much happened to Christine, the main character in this book, in those earlier books The events are alluded to but there is not enough background material included in this book for enjoyable reading on its own.Christine is the main character but that is not her birth name Apparently her parents were killed twenty years ago and she was raised by an aunt and uncle Even after finishing This is the third book in a series I have not read the earlier books and found this one to be quite confusing Much happened to Christine, the main character in this book, in those earlier books The events are alluded to but there is not enough background material included in this book for enjoyable reading on its own.Christine is the main character but that is not her birth name Apparently her parents were killed twenty years ago and she was raised by an aunt and uncle Even after finishing the book I still did not understand the reason for a name change.Christine is in the business of finding lost kids The reason is alluded to, apparently stemming from events in the previous novels in the series This rescue involves child trafficking There is quit a bit of action and some suspense in the plot.Christine was a puzzling character for me Not having read the previous novels, why she does what she does, why she is so attached to her dog, and much else about her was a mystery to me She is apparently the owner of her father s company but that remains shrouded in mystery too She visits the board of directors for the first time in this novel Why she hasn t been involved in the company the twenty years since her parents death is another mystery How the company managed to continue with a missing owner is a mystery too. There is some some suspense in this novel as Christine s life is in danger Again, that apparently originates in previous novels I found it interesting that her friend, Jeremy, actually does muchof the serious rescue work in this novel than Christine does We are tantalized by the possibility of a romance between these two in a future novel That highlights the strong Christian message in the novel, including a salvation experience. This novel really emphasizes the horrors of child trafficking Some sensitive readers may find some of the scenes gruesome I also found some distracting grammatical errors such as for and I.If you can pick up a book in the middle of a series and not be bothered by missing the information in earlier books, you may like this novel I do recommend reading the earlier books in the series before tackling this one.I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through The Book Club Network for the purpose of an independent and honest review
