Brent has nearly killed himself getting to where he is going, and when he gets there he has no clue what to expect But anywhere is better than with his loser, abusive ex and if that anywhere also happens to be where his mates are, then he is definitely going to take it.Being a shifter who has found his mates really should be an easy answer to all his problems, but even Brent knows that being able to change into a frog isn t going to make what he wants easy to attain Corey and Shane have been i Brent has nearly killed himself getting to where he is going, and when he gets there he has no clue what to expect But anywhere is better than with his loser, abusive ex and if that anywhere also happens to be where his mates are, then he is definitely going to take it.Being a shifter who has found his mates really should be an easy answer to all his problems, but even Brent knows that being able to change into a frog isn t going to make what he wants easy to attain Corey and Shane have been in a relationship for over ten years suddenly having Brent show up on their doorstep claiming to be both their mates isn t exactly going to make for smooth swimming Trying to fit three into a pond previously only made for two is going to cause a lot of waves Especially with all the baggage that Brent is bringing with him.Not lying, that cover is pretty much why I read this book Totally adorable Just look at the little froggy don t you just want to like snuggle the fuck out of him Do lie, you know you want to I have a bit of a weak spot for theunusual shifter breeds Everyone has done werewolves or werecats give me a frog or a hedgehog any day They are small, unique, and usually a lot to fun to read about Granted, there is less of a chance for some sneaky knotting to be slipped into the story, but you can t have everything. There is quite a bit to love about this story other than the fact that I really enjoyed the type of shiters on display One of them, which I totally didn t expect, was the fact that Brent was once Brenda, but after their first shift she became a he I make it sound all types of complicated, but I thought it was a really cool idea Not exactly a trans character, but I really liked the idea that for Brent, Corey, and Shane, at least the change of gender was an easy, normal thing And well, I must admit that I wouldn t mind such an easy transition as this even if it meant that I had to be a frog part of the time Ah, fantasy Got to love it.The threesome aspect of this story was also really well written I actually don t care for books where the relationship difficulties brought to bear in poly relationships are glossed over with love and cuddles Two person relationships are damn hard throwing in a third just brings all new, and old, types of complications I liked that these guys didn t get it right the first time That each of the three people made mistakes, got hurt, and then figured their shit out Yeah the sex was hot, but really it was the relationship that these three had that made me really like this book.I had a lot of fun reading this and I really do recommended you pick it up if you are at all interested in shifter stories The boys don t spend a whole lot of time in their froggy skins, but what time the did was really cute And when they had to deal with themessy human things, they do it in style This book was provided free in exchange for a fair and honest review for Love Bytes Go there to check out other reviews, author interviews, and all those awesome giveaways Click below.

I thought this book was cute This was the first time I have read about frog shifters and I honestly really liked that aspect of this book Okay this is were I go into how I am so picky when it comes to M nages because for them to work for me it has to feel equal Well I am not sure I got that feeling with this book and I will explain why So some of this might be spoilers and I am not sure how to explain without telling why I felt a certain way over certain parts of this book Brent began his l I thought this book was cute This was the first time I have read about frog shifters and I honestly really liked that aspect of this book Okay this is were I go into how I am so picky when it comes to M nages because for them to work for me it has to feel equal Well I am not sure I got that feeling with this book and I will explain why So some of this might be spoilers and I am not sure how to explain without telling why I felt a certain way over certain parts of this book Brent began his life as Brenda but when he went through his first shift he turned into a frog and a man Which makes since because some species of frogs can change sex Well he has always known that Shane and Corey were his mates who also happen to be frog shifters like him but a different kind then him So the call of his mates drives him back to them and from the start a lot of discussion about Brent being a part of their couple which Shane and Corey were already mated before Brent joins them happen without Brent which I found odd You would think it would evolve all three of them so I felt like in that aspect Brent was being left out Also there was a rule were only Shane and Corey could have sex alone but Brent was not aloud to have sex with either man alone That part really bugged me yes I know they need to grow as a m nage before they felt comfortable with that aspect of their relationship but then Shane and Corey should not have been able to do that without Brent either and I say this also because it seemed to happen a lot in this book were Shane and Cory would have sex without Brent So yes that bugged me and made it harder for me to see them as a m nage and it working between the three of them Other than that I did like the shifter parts of this book and the way they were together other than the parts that bugged me So with this book you do get steam and some angst which the steam in this book was hot So all together I did like this book but there were parts that bugged me and left me unsure of how I felt about all three of them together. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads

Sharing a Pond, Alex Whitehall s debut novel with Less Than Three Press, is a wonderful story about a young man and the couple that he joins All three of them are frog shifters, and we find out early on that our protagonist, Brent, turned from female to male during his first shapeshifting experience not your usual sort of trans protagonist, but it works. This story has a handful of elements that aren t usually my thing soul mates , contemporary setting, and shapeshifters However, the story Sharing a Pond, Alex Whitehall s debut novel with Less Than Three Press, is a wonderful story about a young man and the couple that he joins All three of them are frog shifters, and we find out early on that our protagonist, Brent, turned from female to male during his first shapeshifting experience not your usual sort of trans protagonist, but it works. This story has a handful of elements that aren t usually my thing soul mates , contemporary setting, and shapeshifters However, the story still worked beautifully for me, which is a testament to Whitehall s writing and the strength of the characters I really liked how the mates were handled it was a key point of the story, but not one that was overplayed. The fact that the characters are shifters plays a secondary role in the plot Even though it wasn t the focus, I love the way it was woven in seamlessly, giving their lives and relationships another level of complexity There are a few really sweet moments that brought a smile to my face, like the three of them in frog form playing together in the bathtub.Sharing a Pond is definitely a relationship driven story, which works since we can see into Brent s head and empathize with the very realistic challenges of entering an existing relationship On occasion Brent seems a bit immature and melodramatic, but it s in character and not played up to an annoying level After all, he is 20 years old, coming out of an unhealthy family situation and abusive relationship, and has no experience with polyamory I stayed emotionally invested in him throughout the story and I never found myself frustrated with his actions, even when I knew he was overreacting or communicating poorly.Overall, Sharing a Pond is a lovely read, especially if you like triads, sweet relationships with a dash of angst, or unusual shifters My only regret is that I bought the ebook instead of the paperback I want to lend this to some of my friends

Sharing a Pond is a bittersweet experience that really lingered after I finished reading it Whitehall s book is about a frog shifter, Brent, who experienced an unexpected gender change when he shifted into his frog form at puberty He was dissuaded from staying with his largely wolf shifter family Brent has tough break after tough break until he eventually decides to try and track down the two men he remembers from his childhood as his mates This story is absolutely adorable It s really t Sharing a Pond is a bittersweet experience that really lingered after I finished reading it Whitehall s book is about a frog shifter, Brent, who experienced an unexpected gender change when he shifted into his frog form at puberty He was dissuaded from staying with his largely wolf shifter family Brent has tough break after tough break until he eventually decides to try and track down the two men he remembers from his childhood as his mates This story is absolutely adorable It s really tender and it handles references to abuse and abandonment very respectfully while still driving home the hurt those events cause Brent s transformation and the difficulties he experienced due to his gender changing were sad but he never lingered on that aspect of his past In fact, he was very matter of fact about it, saying that he really felt like he found the body he was meant to have when the transformation happened The depiction of Brent s reaction to triggers that remind him of the abuse was very realistic Shane and Corey are a wonderful counterpoint to Brent s indecision without becoming stereotypes Shane and Corey have distinct personalities, and I really appreciate that at no point did I have trouble distinguishing between any of the characters The only thing that stuck out as awkward to me was the inclusion of John and the negative reaction he had It seemed to come a little out of the blue to be honest I understand that there needed to be a catalyst or some sort of criticism for Brent to start doubting himself so severely, but honestly I wish we d knownabout John before he just reacted like that It s not illogical that he would it just seems a little sudden within the realm of the story Other than that small criticism, I really loved this story

I was excited to read this when I realized it was about frog shifters I have never read a book with the type of shiver before If was ok for most of the book Then the big controversy that almost broke them up was manufactured and so damn stupid All they had to do was sit down and have an honest conversation Something that should have happened earlier about several things anyway Plus the cause was never really resolved I was excited to read this when I realized it was about frog shifters I have never read a book with the type of shiver before If was ok for most of the book Then the big controversy that almost broke them up was manufactured and so damn stupid All they had to do was sit down and have an honest conversation Something that should have happened earlier about several things anyway Plus the cause was never really resolved Okay here are the spoilers that should have been discussed.First when Brent told Corey and Shane they were his mates they should have told him they had known already Why exactly did they not keep I touch if they knew this Second when Brent stumbled into the spanking scene that was when the conversation about BDSM should have happened.Third Shane hating his job and wanting a new one should have sparked a conversation not an I have to leave to see them bull.It was meh because while there were the beginnings of things I would have enjoyed the most important element was missing When adding a third hard, honest conversations are a must
