Robin Caroll has long been one of my favorite Christian suspense authors, but this is the first novella of hers that I ve read I usually don t read many mystery novellas, as I didn t think it possible that a fully developed suspense tale with the depth that men and women of faith face their challenges with could be contained in a much shorter format This author absolutely proved me wrong The Christmas Bells Tolls could be enjoyed at Christmas or any time of year it could even be appreciate Robin Caroll has long been one of my favorite Christian suspense authors, but this is the first novella of hers that I ve read I usually don t read many mystery novellas, as I didn t think it possible that a fully developed suspense tale with the depth that men and women of faith face their challenges with could be contained in a much shorter format This author absolutely proved me wrong The Christmas Bells Tolls could be enjoyed at Christmas or any time of year it could even be appreciated in the heat of summer when snow is almost welcome Caroll s fans will recognize most of the characters, as they have been featured in her Justice Series One doesn t have to read them first, however, as the author defines each of the primary characters so clearly that this reader felt as if they were neighbors Set in Memphis, TN, FBI Agent Darren, widowed father of five year old Savannah, hugs his baby girl goodbye as she leaves with close family friend Maddie, a lead CSI for the TBI, to be treated to a day of fun with the ladies of her wedding party Maddie was marrying Darren s boss, Nick, on Christmas Eve, and Savannah would be her flower girl The next thing Darren hears is that Savannah was kidnapped from where the ladies met, leaving without her coat or the inhaler tucked into her coat pocket As an asthmatic with a heart condition, she needed that special inhaler Even with the combined resources of the local FBI and TBI offices, finding her with the pending snowstorm seemed nearly impossible.I enjoyed each of the ladies in the wedding, including Riley, the investigative reporter, Remington, the criminal psychologist, Maddie, lead CSI for the TN Bureau of Investigation, and Eva, her best friend and closest team member Eva and Darren had dated for a while, but Darren had not felt she was ready to settle down, nor was she as dedicated in her faith in the Lord as he was Robin Caroll could put herself in the hearts of her characters, as what went through Darren s mind from the time he learned Savannah was abducted surely sounded like a desperate parent. The story was well planned and beautifully executed There was no obvious reason for someone to kidnap Savannah and no ransom demand made The women in their wedding party, especially Eva who loved Savannah, and their husbands all pitched in to help They persevered, prayed together and separately, and demonstratedof how Christians respond in a crisis than they could have in the same amount of time doing nearly anything else Eva began to realize that her faith was definitely not like theirs while she depended on herself, they depended on the Lord Each team member has a spiritual challenge to face as they worked on the case. This novella has changed my mind about novellas this author fully captures the characters and the plot, bringing it to a conclusion that is both satisfying and encouraging to one s daily faith walk I highly recommend Christmas Bell Tolls to older teens and adults of any age who appreciate well written Christian suspense that has a strong demonstration of faith in the Lord without preaching, and a bit of romance, woven through days leading up to Christmas Eve With a grateful heart, I received a copy of this ebook from the author and am offering an honest review All opinions are my own, and no monetary compensation has been received for this review

A suspense by Robin Caroll is a must read for me, and she once again delivers in The Christmas Bell Tolls Since it s a novella, the action moves especially quick, which is good for my heart since it involves a kidnapped little girl Caroll is an expert at character development and plot pacing, not to mention hold your breath moments Even if I weren t a fast reader, I still would have read this in one sitting it s not a story to read a couple of chapters and then lay aside for a few days Don A suspense by Robin Caroll is a must read for me, and she once again delivers in The Christmas Bell Tolls Since it s a novella, the action moves especially quick, which is good for my heart since it involves a kidnapped little girl Caroll is an expert at character development and plot pacing, not to mention hold your breath moments Even if I weren t a fast reader, I still would have read this in one sitting it s not a story to read a couple of chapters and then lay aside for a few days Don t miss The Christmas Bell Tolls Disclosure of Material Connection I received a digital copy of this book free from Robin Caroll and RC Productions I was not required to write a positive review The opinions I have expressed are my own I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission s 16 CFR, Part 255 Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising
