Great news Cavernous is Book No 1 in a three book series There sto come in this story about a teenager, Callie Noland, struggling to live her faith in a fictionalized world that pits the true United States and Christianity against an alliance built by a false prophet who may or may not be her biological father Callie is a terrific heroine She s bright, witty and completely human in her doubts and worries I especially enjoyed the realistic portrayal of her relationship with Ethan T Great news Cavernous is Book No 1 in a three book series There sto come in this story about a teenager, Callie Noland, struggling to live her faith in a fictionalized world that pits the true United States and Christianity against an alliance built by a false prophet who may or may not be her biological father Callie is a terrific heroine She s bright, witty and completely human in her doubts and worries I especially enjoyed the realistic portrayal of her relationship with Ethan There s just enough personal history to put real obstacles in the way of their romance, yet their friendship is strong and promises to grow over the next two books The plot is powerful and relevant No spoilers, but Callie s challenges are ones we each face every day in a smaller way, whether we re adolescents or adults Do we stand up for our beliefs, or do we compromise, either to protect others or to protect ourselves I can t wait to see how this plays out over the rest of the story I also enjoyed the setting The story is set in the West Virginia Kentucky Virginia Tennessee area The geography is both beautiful and treacherous It s also remote, which adds to the tension as Callie and company navigate their way to safety Cavernous is labeled as Young Adult, but I recommend it for readers of all ages I loved this story, and I hope others readers to do, especially those who are in the YA range and struggling to live their faith the way Callie does Here s to a strong Christian role modelWe needof them both in fiction and real life

This may be a YA novel, but I was completely enthralled with this story of a Christian teen named Callie Noland Her world is suddenly turned upside down when she finds herself in a dystopian society after being kidnapped and forced into submission to a recently formed nation, the Alliance of American States, by an evil leader, Adrian Lamb, who claims to be her father as well as Lord and Master of all.Callie quickly realizes that the bible she and other students are given to study has had most This may be a YA novel, but I was completely enthralled with this story of a Christian teen named Callie Noland Her world is suddenly turned upside down when she finds herself in a dystopian society after being kidnapped and forced into submission to a recently formed nation, the Alliance of American States, by an evil leader, Adrian Lamb, who claims to be her father as well as Lord and Master of all.Callie quickly realizes that the bible she and other students are given to study has had most of the true content removed and is nothing but a fake a mix of the real Bible and lies This is where Callie s years of memorizing scripture prove to be a vital defense for her to stay strong in her Christian faith by providing her with the spiritual armor she needs to know just where the lies are She has her weaknesses, and that makes her character all thereal.Cavernous is the first book of the Cavernous Trilogy The story will keep you in suspense from the first page to the last with danger lurking around every corner The author delivers romance, mystery and intrigue in spades I m so looking forward to reading books two and three of this exciting series

I really like this book series because it is a great Christian alternative to the modern genre of apocalypse now , or whatever they re calling it these days In this book the modern American civil war that every author loves to write about these days is presented in a way that s a lotfeasible and not highly improbable, like the Hunger Games or Divergent trilogies In fact, if we were to have a civil war today, this version would be the most likely to happen IN REAL LIFE It s also great t I really like this book series because it is a great Christian alternative to the modern genre of apocalypse now , or whatever they re calling it these days In this book the modern American civil war that every author loves to write about these days is presented in a way that s a lotfeasible and not highly improbable, like the Hunger Games or Divergent trilogies In fact, if we were to have a civil war today, this version would be the most likely to happen IN REAL LIFE It s also great to see how this girl goes from your average teenage Christian, to a young girl who begins to question her true loyalties to God Monica Mynk, according to her webpage, likes to provide a narrative about broken young girls and their heart s journey back to God She also tackles the taboo topic of purity before marriage, and I like how she handles that from both angles One from the girls point of view and the other from the boys point of view It s really not reconciled until the next book, Cacooned, so all readers need to be patient and see how the author deals with it

Cavernous is a fast paced novel with a strong evangelical Christian slant aimed at teenagers It stresses the importance of knowing and applying Bible verses and warns of the danger of denying one s faith Callie is well developed, some of the others, eg Ethan, rather weak. The plot an emotionally deranged maniac succeeds in splitting the USA, imposing a strict regime in the breakaway Alliance states and tearing apart an unsuspecting family is exciting but rather implausible, ranging from sud Cavernous is a fast paced novel with a strong evangelical Christian slant aimed at teenagers It stresses the importance of knowing and applying Bible verses and warns of the danger of denying one s faith Callie is well developed, some of the others, eg Ethan, rather weak. The plot an emotionally deranged maniac succeeds in splitting the USA, imposing a strict regime in the breakaway Alliance states and tearing apart an unsuspecting family is exciting but rather implausible, ranging from sudden brutality to totally unexpected help from traitors The romantic undercurrent showing everything from bitter jealousy to passionate embracing as emotions vacillate carefully avoids contravening evangelical morality. The first person narrative is well written and appropriate for a modern day American teenager The story doesn t ring true outside the US and is not appropriate for an adult male reader, which is why I can t personally give it a higher rating

If you re looking for a Christian adventure, then try this one The main character suddenly finds herself in the middle of a changing society with nearly impossible decisions to make While navigating family connections that pull her between two worlds, her faith and loyalty will be tested and stretched to the breaking point Through it all, she is relatable and very much human This is a story of faith, love, betrayal, and the chance for redemption I ll be biting my nails until the next book c If you re looking for a Christian adventure, then try this one The main character suddenly finds herself in the middle of a changing society with nearly impossible decisions to make While navigating family connections that pull her between two worlds, her faith and loyalty will be tested and stretched to the breaking point Through it all, she is relatable and very much human This is a story of faith, love, betrayal, and the chance for redemption I ll be biting my nails until the next book comes out

I enjoyed seeing life through the eyes of Callie Noland She thinks her family is pretty put together, but they turn out to be somewhat dysfunctional As the story goes, things only get crazier, and although she does her best to hold on to her sanity and Christianity, her faith is continually tested I really enjoyed the use of scripture and the life application throughout the book as well as the discussion questions.
