Surprisingly good Many essay collections like this become conglomerations of case studies mired in minutiae and offputtingly dense The essays here relate some content yes but on the whole they also stick with the theme and unpack the nature of ueer archival research They analyze the topic itself andor provide case studies that are actually meaningful and potentially useful to future researchers by example or by showing possible sources and archives to use Very good indeed

I read this to write a review for an archives publication Short version this is a great collection of essays that function as case studies of researchers encountering ueer materials in the archives Embodied experience is the thread that runs through the diverse chapters Some archivists will be disappointed not to find their own voices included in this volume but I think they will find it to be a worthwhile read nonetheless
