I just love love love the Italian Knight series so much My very first book by author Billy London was Windows which is Book 1 of the seriesWidow Emmanuella Harrison aka Ella came to Tuscany escaping the suffrage of her immediate family to set up home and shop for her and her son Rufus Oftentimes it's good to change scenery especially when a betrayal so deep causes you to uestion your entire family and when your sister was sleeping with the now dead husband so the best thing to do is put an ocean between yourself and your family Ella is a breath of fresh air often called flighty hard to settle down but once she became a mom everything changed for her and she made a promise to be the best mom to her son that she could be Then she sees himDurante Da Canaveze the Olive and Wine Farmer also the younger brother of Massimo lives in isolation just tending his farm and content Something that Durante did many years ago caused him to go into a self imposed isolation to start over and do penance A past failed relationship under his belt he is not looking to be in permanent relationship he likes his solitude just the way it is Then he sees herElla is the Storm to Durante's stillness He realizes that nothing will ever be uiet in his life again if he gets involved with her Ella is fresh air to Durante's stifled heat they both believe there is nothing good to offer the other but oh how wrong these two are In fact Ella and Durante are exactly what they need for each otherElla's past family drama might be a hindrance for her but now that she has caught the eye of the uiet storm also known as Durante her past or family drama will stop this hunky Italian from claiming what he believes is his with Ella he believes he will have everything he had no idea he ever wanted Ella believes Durante is the man that only existed in her dreams and he has stepped out of them into her realityFantastic story with family children love hot sex food laughter redemption and the Da Canaveze Mafia life we have all come to know and love It was great catching up with some of the other family members tooWell Until My Next ReviewCiao Bellas

I finished this book right before going to bed I might or might not had a dream featuring Duranteoh my No time for a long ass review but will leave you with some random thoughts I loved that again Billy proved that mature couples make great romance reads Loved Ella and Durante She was nutty and he the calm to her crazy I liked that the personalities of the characters were captured in the tone and cadance of the narrative And Durante that name is so on point On the side characters I like how in Billy's books her protagonists are not operating in a bubble The interaction with the side characters is very intense and crucial to the story development The new introduced characters in this story cheeky son Rufus and disturbed Arlo who got to redeem himself after his misguided actions in a were a blast That sister Angela though such a btch On the maffia drama very undercooled written no exaggerations Things happened because they needed to happen and I totally bought it On Lucca I've been to Lucca and this book was a great revisit Well done Billy for capturing the essence of Lucca I'm extracting a star because there were some edit issues In spelling but also some abrupt turns in scenes that read like details were left off And I needed full disclosure on Ella's past dealings before Rufus was born I was unsatisfied with the minimal explanation given

At first I was really captivated by this story But then I ran into some significant lag at the 70% mark After that this story lost its mojo just didn't have the same zing that Ms London's novels used to have As a matter of fact the drama that occurred in the last 10 15% of the story just felt rushed and half doneI expected better and as a reader with an itchy 1 click finger I should have gotten better than what I was givenGiving this one 275 starsto

I was so excited to read this book Durante made an appearance in “A life Sublime” He was described as Nick and Paul’s hot uncle I loved the dynamic and chemistry between Durante and Ella This is a story of finding love when you have so much baggage and demons that will not allow you to lay them to rest The supporting characters added to the story You are introduced to Ella her son Rufus and her crazy family in London I loved that Rufus was a miniature Ella in his frankness It’s like God’s cosmic joke on parents giving you a child that is a carbon copy of you The dynamic between Ella and her mother Constance andor sister Angela was crazy Rose “Kissing the Canvas” has nothing on Constance We also get to see how resourceful and skilled Ella truly isI feel like we buried the lead with this piece Hopefully there will be novella providing some background on Ella’s past prior to the first marriage For fans of the IK series this book was like a gift basket of stuff This book takes place at the same time as “A life Sublime” and “The Claim” This book allows you to see the dynamics between Durante and his family You get a glimpse of who Massimo was in his prime What it was like for his family to be related to someone rising in the criminal underworld We get to attend Massimo and Belinda’s wedding in this book The crazy antics between Nick Gina Paul and Sofia continue The wedding toasts had me in tears laughing Arlo’s story is continued beginning with Massimo shipping him to Italy Ella and Durante have officially become my favorite couple in the IK seriesWell done Ms London You never disappoint

45 StarsThis story gets back to why I loved The Italian Knights series to begin with It's romance meets Mr Mrs Smith I fucking laughed til I had tears in my eyes I can't stand a precocious child but with a name like Rufus all is forgiven Ella Harrison one of these names is my own is a semi grieving widow who has sorta fled to Italy to get her mind right after her husband's untimely death I initially did not like Ella after she appeared to have abandoned her son with her overbearing mother but when she and her son were on that phone and he begged her to come get him and she broke down I was over here bawling myself Durante is the uncle of Nick and younger brother of Massimo Da Cazaneve from books 1 5 He is battling his own demons while running the family vineyards and olive farm You know the Da Cazaneve men are fine and the cover model does him much justice looks like Hugh Jackman right? Durante and Ella pussy foot over their attraction toward one another for too much of this story for me When they do finally get together all hell breaks loose As with many of B L's stories food is always involved a woman after my own heart and there's always some biotch relative to cause problems Angela could get these hands but somebody already beat me to itThoroughly entertaining These books are standalones with no cliffhangers There is some minor character crossover from other stories in the series Click it up

Running away and being a recluse does not keep trouble awayDurante Da Canaveze bought a failing vineyard and olive farm to get away from the life he was living and became a recluse until Emmanuella came to Lucca and started work at his favorite restaurantElla became a widow and needed to escape from the reality and betrayal surrounding her husband David Harrison's death As she had done before she ran to Italy to get her head straight before getting her son Rufus from her parents She had a very contiguous relationship with her mother and sister Angela who was responsible for the ultimate betrayal that Ella just could not find herself to forgive her for The only precious person she had left in her life was her son Rufus and she would protect him with her life I just loved her relationship with her sonWith Durante he saw in Ella Roo and Arlo that at his age maybe there was a chance for a loving wife and family after all But the past has an ugly way of rearing its head forcing them to dig out their old way of life to protect their future Angela just could not keep her irresponsible and selfish self away allowing David's corrupt past to follow her to Italy In the process Roo's innocence was ripped away and Ella hated her sister for destroying her son's memory of his deceased fatherBook six of the Italian Knights series was in interesting read about two people trying to redeem their lives from their past to be better people and finding out in the process that they can have true love in their lives Family is not always blood but can be made up of loving relationships from unrelated people and that is just what Ella Durante Rufus and Arlo were family Besides Durante desperately wanted to be Roo's Dad the Seuel and wanted to make sure they all got their HEA and maybe healing some family relations in the process

The latest Italian Knights book showcase Durante and Ella Both in their 40’s and learning to live in the now rather than in the past Not letting the past define who they are Another wonderful look at second chances and love at a later age
