This was a nice story about roommates falling for each other I actually enjoyed Justin's journey a bit than Mark's in how he came to fall for Mark This was a pretty low key build but the characters were really likeable the story just a sweet little tale If there was one thing that I didn't really care for it would have been Justin's could have been a contender speeches That angle got old fast

I liked this It was sweet if a little tame but there was nothing new here We've all read this book before It was also very short so there wasn't a lot of character development This really should have been a freebieSo despite liking it I'm sorry I just can't recommend it

An enjoyable if fairly predictable roommates to lovers story where the former athlete falls for the somewhat shy and socially awkward geek I would have liked a little angst and a lot steam but it was a uick easy read

Review posted at The Armchair ReaderI've been excited about this new story from Kate McMurray ever since she visited the blog in June for Kate McMurray Week It's another baseball story and though I first thought that it might be a spinoffseuel or in some way related to Out in the Field because the main character Mark works at Sports Net it seems to have no connectionThe premise is a roommates to lovers story when Justin visits Mark about a listing looking for a roommate to share his Brooklyn apartment They find that though they're different in a lot of ways Mark is painfully shy in front of an outgoing and hunky Justin they also have some things in common Justin was once a baseball player a pitcher for the Brooklyn Cyclones before an injury forced him off of the field and into a coaching job Mark works for Sports Net writing about baseball statistics but he's never been an athlete himself no matter how much he enjoys the game But most of all Mark is just glad that a normal and sane person came in reply to his listing and actually wants to rent the room no matter the fact that Justin is so hot it might be impossible for Mark to actually have a conversation with himAfter a little while when the awkwardness of sharing a home with a stranger starts to abate and the two start to get to know one another they both start to see that they're unhappy in their lives Justin is having a hard time coaching those who he knows will go on to have the career that he always wanted and coaching isn't giving him the same thrill that playing did Mark really wants to have a relationship and he confesses to Justin that he doesn't know if he could ever meet someone because he's so shy So the two decide to help the other out Justin tells Mark that he'll help him find a guy and Mark tells Justin that he'll help him find something he's passionate about just as he was playing baseballEven though this had less baseball in it than I expected I really uite enjoyed this story It probably isn't going to get rave reviews because it's a short story and I have a feeling that a lot of readers are going to want from this couple and feel like this story is too short I don't really think that's true We aren't presented with a couple here that has issues they have to work through together and individually that will take them a long time to process in order to get their HEA They're of a simple couple that takes a small amount of time and a little nudge to see that they could be good together And that was fine with me I finished the story enjoying it for what it was and feeling satisfiedFans of Kate McMurray will definitely want to read this story All of the things that I like about her writing were presented here like her love of Brooklyn and baseball and I really liked how the food and cooking classes brought them together food can definitely do that It was a nice story sweet and light and enough to tide me over for of her work to come

I love a short but very sweet romance between what at first appears to be very dissimilar characters I am also a baseball fan although much like Justin the statistics make my brain hurt but this story did hit me on a few levels I enjoyed the fast paced writing and the characters were fun and realisticMark is beyond sweet He's that enchanting mix of awkward and nerd with bouts of horrible shyness that just made me want to snuggle him He may be a genius at sports statistics and writes a fabulous weekly column but he's horrible at sports too gangly and uncoordinated I adored himJustin is every high school jock except he's lost the arrogance after not making it beyond the minors because of an injury The changed attitude just made him attractive in my eyes and he had a bit of vulnerability that came out at times which was terribly appealingThis was a very fun short story that entertained I enjoyed it immensely with its sweetness and happy ever after endingNOTE This book was provided by Dreamspinner Press for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews

This was easy reading short and sweet It is the story of flatmates who fall in love Mark and Justin are opposites the classic athlete and the nerd Cripplingly shy and socially awkward That was Mark in a nutshell He's wildly attracted to Justin but has no idea how he is going to live with an athletic dreamboat Of course neither of them imagine the other wants themThe story revolves around Justin helping Mark to find a boyfriend and Mark helping Justin to expand his horizons beyond baseballIt was a nice story not overly special but enjoyable all the same The pairing of the geek and the athlete was cute and I liked the premise you don't know what you've got until someone else wants it And of course I liked the happy endingMark had wanted Justin to find something he loved than baseball and Justin knew in that moment that he had He'd found Mark awwI now publish all my mm reviews on my blog so if you want to see all my mm reviews in one place come visit at Because Two Men Are Better Than One

A short and very sweet novella about two roommates who share a love of baseball Mark is a stats geek and Justin was a promising minor league player but a tendon injury sidelined his career But still to have taken a bite of the cake without getting to eat the whole slice broke his heart every damn day Shy uiet Mark wants a relationship with someone a marriage So the two take a cooking class with Justin hoping to help Mark find a boyfriend and Mark wanting to find something that Justin can love as much as baseball Loved the low angst plot and damn Kate McMurray writes so well about baseball and baseball players 4 stars

Another cute fluffy read I would have liked a bit angst but this is the perfect uick before bed type of read Doesn't reuire a lot of thinking but it also probably won't stick with me long at all as there was nothing to set either character or the plot apart
