You Had Me Crying at the EndA very good story with strong character development Good interpretations of personal conflict between moral living and life dilemmas There were many grammatical errors Not the use of collouial speech but mistakes of repeated misplaced or misspelled words I hope this distraction becomes less as I was so enthralled with Book #1 that I have already purchased the entire series

Great storyI like that while there is enough gunplay violence to satisfy any Western fan the main characters never lose sight of God's leading in their lives

These are the first two books in the series  In “Redeeming Reputation” we are introduced to Nathan Ryder  Nathan it seems is on his way out west to become a traveling preacher on the circuit  Before he even gets out of town he receives some news that will change his life  His plan then is to continue on to Redemption New Mexico to stick with his original plan of spreading the gospel  Nathan meets up with all sorts of interesting characters in the town before he heads west and he picks up a reputation of being a uick gunslinger  Who all joins him on his trek to New Mexico?  Is he really the fastest gunslinger in the west?Spoilers  “Redeeming Trail” follows up to the end of “Redeeming Reputation” where Nathan and his wagon train have finally headed out of town and in the direction of Redemption  As the wagon train full of characters move on they are infiltrated by another outlaw set on taking Nathan’s reputation away as the fastest gunslinger in the west and will do whatever it takes to disrupt this wagon train  When the group finally reaches Redemption there’s another battle waiting  Will the outlaw be the one to finally defeat Nathan?  What dangers await the great once they reach Redemption?I’m not a huge Western fan but I enjoy reading a good tale from the old wild west  These books actually gave me not only some great wild west action but also showed the bible in action  The main character Nathan Ryder is sure to be in the will of God to be heading out to the preaching circuit but when you add in the code of the west there’s bound to be problems  The author handles these differences extremely well to the point of making me want to cheer each time the Preacher was faced with such a dilemma and he was able to balance handling the situation but doing it a way that was true to biblical answers  It was refreshing to see such a point made to staystrong to biblical beliefsIs this a Guys Book?   It’s the wild west what needs to be said?  Horses gunslingers gun battles and outlaws  These books and those whole series will be a fantastic read to anyone that enjoys a great WesternI received the ebook from the author in exchange for my honest opinion

Redeeming Trail is the second of what is promised to be than a handful of Old West adventures of Nathan Ryder sympathetic minister of the Gospel as well as scintillating gunfighterIn summary without giving away any of the action packed ending Nathan and his new bride Grace organize and then lead a hodge podge of folk wanting to take their chances in the Wild West A group of former slaves who are led by a preacher much like Nathan are sufficiently countered by a rich and somewhat bigoted businessman and his family In the first part of the novel McVey builds this conflict to a satisfying and thought provoking resolutionAnother interesting set of characters are the famous denizens of the Old West that the travelers encounter along the way The chapter that focused on Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse brought back fond memories of learning about these two leaders of the Sioux NationMcVey's style of revealing Nathan's motivations along with the motivations of than a few of the major characters is at times a bit verbose It may have sufficed to simply allow the reader to discern Lucy's motivations for example via her words and actions But this is a minor issue and it does not take away from enjoying the narrativeThe author also takes a few other liberties with historical fact but since this is merely a work of entertaining and spiritually uplifting fiction who's to say that it matters that much? Ever thought about where the spork came from?Overall I enjoyed reading the PDF version that Mr McVey sent to me and look forward to reading the rest of Nathan's adventures

Redeeming Trail by Pastor George McVey gets 5 stars from me I enjoyed this story the 2nd in the Redemption Tales series although it wasn't as exciting as the first book but that is because they are traveling to Redemption But the middle part really starts getting exciting when they found out who they hired for the scout The ending makes me anxiously waiting for the 3rd book in this series to see if they captured the villian This book continues with Nathan Ryder continuing his journey to Redemption to be the new pastor This is the story of the people he is traveling with in the wagon train I love how he finally convinces others that the Negro's are just people like the rest of us and in God's eyes we are all the same The evil gunslinger Diamond Dale makes trouble for Nathan all through the book There are heartaches and joys in this book My heart was actually broken for Lucy's parents and others when she is no longer a part of the wagon train Why was my heart broken and why wasn't she a part of the train any longer READ THE STORY AND YOU WILL KNOW AND YOU WILL PROBABLY BE SAD BUT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU READ THE BOOK But at the end of the story your heart will rejoice with the people of Redemption and like me will be waiting for book 3 I did not like westerns till I starting reading this series I was given a pdf copy by the author for my honest review

Redeeming Trail Book 2 Redemption Tails by George H McVey Sr I so enjoyed the first book in this series when my Audible membership allowed me a new credit to buy another audiobook I chose this oneI was so happy to see that the narrator was the same As I said in the review of George’s first book in this series “As soon as the audiobook started I was hooked The rich deep western voice was like a mother’s melody to me I was instantly transported and the words of this wonderful story came alive for me” This tale finishes off where the last one ended Finally they are on the trail with a Wagon Train and the Preacher is the wagon master But trouble follows him to New Mexico All around the Sante Fe Trail there is conflict between the members of the Wagon Train as well as outlaws in the surrounding towns and forts Keeping his wits about him the Preacher refers to the teaching from his Grandpa over and over again We hear prayers in this book but not as many people turn to put their faith in Christ All of the new converts from the last book are on the Wagon Train so this story is about their walk and reliance on God in the midst of their daily lives I can’t wait to read or listen to the next book in this series Great job George
