    I read this play and both riveted and moved Couldn t wait to see it on stage That day came a few weeks ago and I must say it s evenpowerful But if you can t see the play, read the book also Morrisseau s Detroit 67 A true talent

    This was a little too on the nose for my taste, and I found the central metaphor nonsensical The MC repeatedly talks about how she s never seen a sunset to indicate how hard her life has been, and I am just like, how Have you never been outside around dusk Even if you mean that you wanted to watch one on purpose at leisure, sunsets are free and you live in Brooklyn I m pretty sure you could find a tall building or a riverbank or a ferry boat where you could watch the sun set if that s This was a little too on the nose for my taste, and I found the central metaphor nonsensical The MC repeatedly talks about how she s never seen a sunset to indicate how hard her life has been, and I am just like, how Have you never been outside around dusk Even if you mean that you wanted to watch one on purpose at leisure, sunsets are free and you live in Brooklyn I m pretty sure you could find a tall building or a riverbank or a ferry boat where you could watch the sun set if that s a thing you wanted to do However, there were a few electric moments in the last two scenes where it all tied together and gave me goosebumps

    It s an amazing play The characters really spoke to me I understood why Nina shut herself off from the world and that ending.freed a piece of my soul I would love to see it on stage.

    Very talky play Interest look at broken family dynamics, but not sure how exciting it would be to watch.

    I loved Sunset Baby by Dominique Morisseau I wish I could see this play The story of a Black revolutionary who tries to reconnect with his daughter, a drug dealer and thief, after she loses her mother, a Black revolutionary turned crack addict An interesting story about the sacrifices many of our Black leaders made for the struggle and how those sacrifices impacted their families It is so intriguing Morisseau captures a lot of pain in the characters, Nina, Kenyatta, and Damon Different typ I loved Sunset Baby by Dominique Morisseau I wish I could see this play The story of a Black revolutionary who tries to reconnect with his daughter, a drug dealer and thief, after she loses her mother, a Black revolutionary turned crack addict An interesting story about the sacrifices many of our Black leaders made for the struggle and how those sacrifices impacted their families It is so intriguing Morisseau captures a lot of pain in the characters, Nina, Kenyatta, and Damon Different types of pain, all equal nonetheless I recommend this play it is a short read, but its impact is long lasting I m still thinking about it
