A good one for the train enthusiasts out there, escpeically the younger ones Nice and bright illustrations and a clear, easy to follow story Perfect for fans of the I m ____ truck series by Kate McMullan.I ve pulled this out for train programs, but it would also fit for a friendship or teamwork theme.

Related to the tortoise and the hare, but not quite the same story.Whoosh is a high speed passenger train Chug is a slow cargo train with a crane. When Whoosh runs a signal and gets stuck in a dangerous area, Chug comes to the rescue.

This book is about two trains one that goes very fast and is a bit of a bully and one that goes very slowly because he carries very heavy cargo One day, the slow train gets stopped on the tracks because of danger ahead As he s waiting, the fast train whooshes past him straight into danger He gets caught between a broken bridge and rocks that have fallen on the track The slow train moves the rocks slowly and steadily so the other can go back to safety I don t like the feel of this book T This book is about two trains one that goes very fast and is a bit of a bully and one that goes very slowly because he carries very heavy cargo One day, the slow train gets stopped on the tracks because of danger ahead As he s waiting, the fast train whooshes past him straight into danger He gets caught between a broken bridge and rocks that have fallen on the track The slow train moves the rocks slowly and steadily so the other can go back to safety I don t like the feel of this book The illustrations are very simple and great for toddlers The characters are super shallow and unrealistic The slow train has no reaction whatsoever when the fast train calls him names Okay for storytimes, but I would choose something else if possible

While I find this one a little boring to read over and over, my 2 year old has asked for it at every nap and bedtime since we got it at the library 2 days ago the pictures are simple and vibrant My 5 year old asked how Whoosh got on the dangerous track and I think she has a point They seem to change from crossing tracks to parallel onesweird My youngest loves it, though, and it s welcome relief from the Thomas the Tank Engine stories we ve read over and over.

This is a great addition for any child who is fascinated by trains etc Chug is a hard working and plans everything carefully while Whoosh is a stream liner not prepared to slow down for a minute When Whoosh finds himself in trouble though, it s Chug to the rescue Great book to help children see that differences make them each uniquely important.

This is a book that my son picked out at are most recent trip to the library Normally I try to steer him away from trains to another topic, but this time I let him It was a fun book to read There are repeated works throughout the book that make it easy for a child to participate in reading the story My son loved reading his part
