Roller gives an interesting perspective into the Ivy League experience The book follows several women for what seems like a very short period of time a whole semester or part of semester as they experience college life bond with one another explore their sexualityromantic relationships play rugby for Yale and prepare for the real world The author weaves songs some very bawdy some traditional through her dialogue that helps set the tone for each scene It seemed like an original device to meAll in all the book was intriguing The story is easy to relate to for anyone who has been through the college experience but probably so for someone involved with a collegiate sport and maybe even so for Ivy Leaguers Even though that does not describe me I still enjoyed the storyFor someone not familiar with Rugby it might be helpful to know that there is an appendix at the back of the e book that is very helpfulI would warn that the book uses some very colorful and explicit language

So as someone who loves rugby I had to read this book once I heard about it and I did It's only available online and it seems to be kind of semi auto biographical Parts of it rung very true especially the characters struggling to deal with changes in their sexual identities disapproving parents inter team romance and recruiting new players However I kind of wished there had been rugby action to complement the vivid depictions of the social aspects of the game Also parts of it seemed to really be about Yale which is cool and all but there wasn't enough exploration of that angle or explanation of the Yale traditions which to be fair might have been because half of the book's prose had to explain rugby to an American audienceHowever I was very proud of the moment where Smith Rugby's cheer proceeded to disturb the Yale parents because that folks would in fact happen in real life
